The days of having a private eye lurk behind peepholes to dig up the dirt on an extramarital affair are history, but detectives can still be useful in forensic investigations or contested custody cases when you think you can prove your spouse is not acting in your child’s best interests. The following behaviors might merit a private investigator:
- Your spouse is abusing alcohol or drugs when he or she is with the children;
- Your spouse is sleeping with a succession of men or women when the children are under their roof, or
- The environment is unclean and unhealthy for the children.
Ask your attorney about whether using a private investigator would be beneficial in your case.
