You are entitled to keep any property you had before you were married or that was given to you as a separate gift or inheritance while you were married, unless you put it into the marital pot. Keep in mind that any appreciation or increase in value of this property during the marriage likely belongs to both of you. If you deposited money into a joint account, it usually makes it part of the marital property and you will have to share it.
