Irwin M. Pollack

Founder and Lead Attorney

Irwin Pollack is the Founder and Lead Attorney of The Massachusetts Family Law Group. He represents clients in all 14 of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts and leads our law firm in offering zealous representation and taking an aggressive stance in court to get the best ultimate result for every client.

According to his peers in the legal community, Irwin's passion is working on highly-contested custody and parental alienation battles, putting his analytical "numbers-oriented mind" to work in representing either the obligor or recipient spouse related to financial support, or analyzing and advocating on behalf of the business owner (or his or her spouse) as it relates to business ownership interests associated with a divorce case.

Keeping children safe and creating a parenting plan that is in the best interest of children is both Irwin's passion and the driving force behind MFLG. We are committed to helping our clients make custody and visitation arrangements that are in the best interests of your minor children while protecting your rights as a parent. Whether you are being accused of wrongdoing or have been wronged, we can help you understand your legal options and represent your best interests in court.

Before the advent of social media, Attorney Pollack and his attorneys conducted discovery the old-fashioned way: with subpoenas and the help of private investigators. Now the first place he checks is on the computer. Late last year, a female in her early-30s came to the Firm seeking a divorce from her husband claiming he was a heavy drinker and not attending to the couple's children. Husband denied it. Once we found pictures of him drinking at Fenway Park, we dug further to find relevant evidence on his profile page, wall comments, status updates, and Match.com profile. Our client's husband lost all credibility in court. It's that type of discovery that makes our group one of "the most sought-after divorce law firms in Massachusetts."

As it relates to hidden assets and business ownership interests, Irwin Pollack conducts research on a 24/7/365 basis to get a clear picture of the parties' marital estate. Corporate income tax returns are his favorite. Pollack claims if one spouse is the principal owner of a closely-held corporation, the tax return will provide support of salary manipulation, corporate loan accounts, excessive or unnecessary retained earnings (undistributed profits), or the extent to which a spouse may be able to "live off" a corporate expense account.

Another favorite is safe deposit box records which banks maintain telling who accessed the box - and when. While the records will not indicate contents of a box or what, if anything, has been removed, it paints a pretty good picture of a divorcing spouse's motives or financial disclosure.

If you have started to think about divorce - listing the pros and cons, weighing the advantages and disadvantages - and have decided that it is time to start the divorce process, you won't find a more experienced, aggressive, or compassionate attorney than Irwin Pollack.
